As part of the Department of Veterans Affairs Upper Midwest Network, this medical center furnishes veterans a wide range of health care services. In addition to acute care, the Sioux Falls VA medical center provides transitional care, primary and specialty outpatient care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, acute psychiatry services, geriatric evaluation and management, audiology services, and addictions treatment. The regional office also administers other VA benefits throughout South Dakota. The Sioux Falls VAMROC is also responsible for community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) in Sioux City and Aberdeen. Negotiations are in progress to partner with Indian Health Services and tribal governments to provide additional points of service with the Flandreau Santee and Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux tribes. 104 beds (45 acute care, 59 transitional care)
